Urgostrips - SUTURE A WOUND - Urgo

Are you looking for a quick way to close a superficial wound?

Then choose URGOSTRIPS!

Size:
10cm x 0.6 cm

Sterile and hypoallergenic, URGOSTRIPS are suitable for sensitive skin.

URGOSTRIPS are also easy to apply.

Check the integrity of the individual sterile protector.

Instructions for use:
Must be applied by an adult for those under 16.

  1. Clean and disinfect the wound and its surrounding area with an antiseptic solution. If necessary, achieve hemostasis (stop bleeding). Dry with a sterile compress to facilitate the adhesion of the strips.
  2. Open the sachet sterilely. If the strips need to be cut, use sterile scissors or scissors disinfected with alcohol.
  3. After thoroughly washing your hands with soap and water, apply two strips parallel to the wound, on either side of the wound. (see diagram)
  4. Be careful not to touch the part of the strip that will be in contact with the wound. Apply a third strip perpendicularly to one edge of the wound and, with slight traction, apply it to the opposite edge to ensure the wound edges are brought together, without overlapping.
  5. Apply subsequent strips in the same way until the wound is completely closed. Finish by applying 2 transverse strips to reinforce the whole.

Leave the strips in place (3 to 4 days) until they peel off or no longer function. Replace the strips according to the instructions until complete healing. The wound must remain dry. Primary healing of a superficial wound takes about ten days.

Precautions:

  • The presence of hair or the use of oily products such as creams or ointments may impair adhesiveness
  • Sterile single-use strip; do not reuse or reposition an already applied strip, do not keep a strip in an open sachet (otherwise risk of infection)
  • Do not re-sterilize. Check the integrity of the sterile protector before use. Do not use if the packaging is damaged.
  • To limit the risk of superinfection of the wound, it is advisable to cover the entire area with an antiseptic dressing. Do not remove or change the strips each time the dressing is renewed.
  • Healing is facilitated if the strip is positioned without leaving any space or overlapping between the wound edges.
  • Regularly monitor the wound and its surrounding area to detect any signs of infection such as pain, redness, swelling, odor, or discharge.

In case of doubt or infection, contact your doctor or nursing service.

  • Do not use after the expiration date (indicated on the sachet and on the box).
  • Store the sachets of strips in their original box.

Contraindications:

  • Contraindicated for premature infants and infants weighing less than 3.5 kg
  • Do not use on infected wounds, exuding wounds, or bleeding wounds.
  • Do not apply to the eyes or eyelids.
  • Do not apply to joints (risk of strong tension and tearing of the strips).
  • Do not use Urgostrips for more than 30 consecutive days.
