Femur fracture and wear of the hip joint

This model was developed to support an understandable explanation to the patient, for example before an operation. It shows the right hip joint (half life size) of an elderly person. Furthermore, a frontal section of the neck of the femur is represented in relief on the base. The model shows the femur fractures occurring most frequently in practice as well as the typical wear symptoms of the hip joint (coxarthrosis or arthrosis of the hip joint). The following fractures are shown:
• Medial femoral neck fracture
• Lateral femoral neck fracture
• Fracture through the trochanteric area (pertrochanteric femur fracture)
• Fracture below the trochanters (subtrochanteric femur fracture)
• Fracture in the area of ​​the femoral columns (femoral shaft fracture)
• Fracture in the area of ​​the head of the femur (femoral head fracture)
• Fracture of the greater trochanter
• Fracture or tearing of the lesser trochanter (avulsion fracture of the lesser trochanter)
